Attention Religious and Civil Celebrants!
To perform marriage ceremonies in the Commonwealth of Virginia, both Civil and Religious Celebrants must first obtain authorization from a Circuit Court in Virginia. An ordination certificate does not automatically authorize religious clergy to perform wedding ceremonies in Virgina. For information on how to become an authorized marriage celebrant whether Civil or Religious (both out of state and local) please either contact the Clerk's Office at 703-777-0270 or visit the Courty's website at: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/courts/circuit/marriage_info.htm
Mandated by the Department of Vital Records in Richmond, Virginia, celebrants must complete marriage licenses in black ink only. Any marriage license completed in any ink other than black will be returned to the officiant. |
