Seven Loaves
Seven Loaves Food Bank, which was founded by The Reverend Martin Spillman, former minister at Middleburg United Methodist Church, is a ministry of volunteers dedicated to providing food and other supplies to those members of our community and surrounding areas who are in need of assistance. Seven Loaves is a non-profit organization funded by gifts from local churches, organizations and caring individuals, which assists over 5,000 people a year. Seven Loaves operates out of the Middleburg United Methodist Church and is open for food distribution on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The past two years Middleburg United Methodist Church sponsored fundraisers which benefited Seven Loaves, the Cancer Fund, and our local emergency Mission Fund.Howard Armfield (right) presenting George Lengauer of 7 Loaves a $1000 check from our 2008 Spring Fund Raiser - A Touch of Spring
Local Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
The church, for many years, has provided space for a local chapter of AA to meet weekly in a private setting. The meeting is on Saturday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. This is a Step Meeting, based on 12 Steps, 12 Traditions.
Annual Scholarship Fund
An annual scholarship fund has been established by one of our members to assist a college student in need of financial aid.
Local Mission Fund
Our local Mission Fund has been used to help many different individuals with various needs such as rental payments, medicine, heating fuel, gas, and medical bills.
The United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women are very active in our church. They meet on the third Tuesday of each month, usually at the church. They do not meet during July and August. The main focus of the United Methodist Women is on women and children. All women are invited to attend our meetings.
The United Methodist Women's mission program includes: The Red Bird Mission in Kentucky, school supplies for children through 7 Loaves Food Bank, Operation Christmas Child, making health and school kits for Annual Conference, plus other projects which surface during the year.
Come join us! There is fun doing God's work.
The Middleburg United Methodist Church continues with established outreach ministries as well as starting new ministries. We strive to open the church doors to groups or individuals who need meeting space, as we look for opportunities to serve our community.
